Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
First and foremost, the Suns are getting something from nothing here. That’s an opportunity you always take.
After all, Jae Crowder is currently not suiting up for them. He demanded a trade after the Suns gave his starting spot to Cam Johnson. Moving him is practically essential for this organization now.
Meanwhile, Johnson is now out for the year with an injury. Realistically, the Suns need to replace him by trading Crowder. This deal has them doing exactly that.
Of course, Collins isn’t a direct replacement for Johnson. He’s not as strong of a floor spacer, and he’s not as good on defense.

Should the Hawks really part with such a player?
