Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal 

Firstly, the Raptors may not do this deal unless Anunoby is truly unhappy. For argument’s sake, let’s assume he is. 

Suddenly, the Raptors have a large incentive to move him. Keeping a disgruntled player is never good business. If the Raptors can get value for an unhappy Anunoby, they should. 

This deal certainly has them receiving value. Moreover, it has two players who “star in their role”. Most significantly in the short term, Caruso is one of the best 3-and-D guards in the NBA. 

On the other hand, Williams may be the main draw here in the long run.
