Golden State Warriors

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: F/C Draymond Green, G/F Donte DiVincenzo, 2026 First-Round Pick (GSW)
Golden State Warriors Receive: F/C Anthony Davis

The Lakers have been very disappointing in 2022-23. With that said, they haven’t necessarily been the most disappointing team in the Western Conference.

That dubious distinction probably goes to the Golden State Warriors. After all, they are the defending NBA champions. At 3-7, they certainly don’t look the part.

Perhaps the Golden State Warriors need a shake-up. If so, Green would appear to be an obvious trade candidate. After all, he’s feuded with the much younger Jordan Poole, and he’s soon due for a contract extension the Warriors can’t necessarily afford.

As for the Lakers, Green is actually a marginally better floor spacer than Davis. Small ball lineups featuring him at the 5 may actually make better use of Westbrook than lineups featuring Davis.

Furthermore, DiVincenzo has been rehabbing an injury this season but should be a solid 3-and-D guard/wing when he returns.

Finally, Green is on record as saying he’d like to play alongside James. Perhaps the Lakers should read between the lines – and make it happen.
