When a player seems to habitually cause cultural issues, it can be hard to value them – no matter how talented they may be. 

With that in mind, nobody can question Kyrie Irving’s ability to play the game of basketball. He may be the best ball-handler in NBA history. Irving is a special talent. 

Unfortunately, he’s also frequently in the middle of controversy. Irving is entitled to his opinion, as any person is.

On the other hand, his refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine was a real, tangible problem for the Nets last year.
