When the Pistons acquired Bogdanovic this summer, there was some confusion. Isn’t this team rebuilding? Are they really ready to trade for impactful veterans? 

In all likelihood, the Pistons were hoping to take a step forward. The hope was likely that adding a floor spacer like Bogdanovic would enhance the play of their talented young backcourt of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey. 

Perhaps a win-now move wasn’t the wrong decision. It may be that the Pistons simply prioritized the wrong skillset. Suree, front-court spacing is important, but as of now, the Pistons are losing games because of their defense.
