For the Celtics, this deal comes down to two players they already have: Malcolm Brogdon, and Williams III.
Brogdon’s presence on this team makes White expendable. Realistically, they’re extremely similar players, and Brogdon is probably a better one.
Meanwhile, Williams III’s presence on this team makes Kleber necessary. Unfortunately, the one they call Time Lord is routinely hurt. The Celtics could use an extra defensive big for the time that he’s unavailable.
Kleber is exactly that. He’s a solid rim protector who can also survive in space when necessary.

Meanwhile, his ability to space the floor means that he can co-exist with Williams III, Al Horford, or just about anyone.
