Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal
We’ve basically already laid out the Mavericks’ calculus here. They’re deciding they need a secondary ball-handler more than they need Kleber.
For what it’s worth, this team’s frontcourt is relatively crowded. Christian Wood has proven a fantastic fit for them so far. Meanwhile, Dorrian Finney-Smith looks as solid as usual. JaVale McGee has been underwhelming, but he’s still a viable rotation big.
On the other hand, the Mavericks’ guard rotation is thin. Luka Doncic, of course, is a superstar, and Spencer Dinwiddie has been solid as well.
Otherwise, there isn’t much to talk about for this team’s backcourt.

Does adding Kleber do the same for the Celtics?
