Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal

The Sixers may not be able to offer Crowder a starting role. They can still offer him a prominent one. 

After all, he’s a distinct upgrade over Danuel House Jr. In particular, he’s a notable better defender. If Crowder can swallow his pride and accept a bench role, he’d be an invaluable addition to the Sixers. 

Meanwhile, a starting role wouldn’t be out of the question for Crowder, either. If the Sixers look better wth hm in the lineup over Harris, nobody should be shocked.

Crowder is the better defender, and realistically, the Sixers mostly lean on their forwards for 3-and-D skills anyway.

In fact, Harris could even be the focal point of the second unit’s offense. Perhaps the Sixers won’t go that far. Either way, they’ll have one of the best wing rotations in the NBA following this trade.
