Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

For the Nets, this is about (you guessed it) getting the best player in the deal. 

For all of this group’s struggles, they sure have a lot of talent. With that said, as a team with championship aspirations, adding more talent will always be a smart decision. This deal has them doing so. 

After all, Harris is a fringe All-Star. He’s one of the most consistent floor-spacing forwards in the NBA, and he can create his own shot when need be as well. Adding another player with that ability will only make a potentially dominant Nets offense more dynamic. 

Meanwhile, they can spare the players they’re parting with here as well. Seth Curry is a similar player to Harris.

O’Neale is a better defender than Harris, but Ben Simmons should be able to make up for that loss. All told, the Nets are in a good position to grab Harris and improve.
