Of course, this wouldn’t be the most significant deal these two sides have made with each other recently. 

In fact, they’re intrinsically linked now. It feels like an eternity ago, but heading into last season, Sixers star James Harden was a Brooklyn Net.  Meanwhile, Ben Simmons, on paper, was a Sixer. 

Of course, the whole world knew that would change. Friction between Simmons and the organization was well documented. The entire NBA world knew that his time with the Sixers was coming to an end. 

On the other hand, nobody expected Harden to leave Brooklyn. In relative terms, he’d just gotten there.

Still, Harden would demand a trade, and eventually, he’d be traded for Simmons. 

Flash forward to 2022-23, and both of these teams are struggling early. Could they come together to make another big trade?
