Of course, the middle of the pack is a place the Wizards are far too familiar with. 

For a while, this team appeared to be on the cusp of something more. With a backcourt featuring John Wall and Bradley Beal, the Wizards had potential. Unfortunately, Wall’s injuries cut that potential short. 

Since then, the Wizards have been consistently mediocre. Beal has remained with the squad, but they’ve struggled to put a strong group around him. As a result, the Wizards are usually just inside, or just outside of the playoff picture. 

Today, they’re in the same position. As a result, many fans would call for the Wizards to rebuild. In particular, some would even have the organization move Beal.

At the same time, if they could retool around Beal, that would be a more prudent way to build a contender.
