Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal 

The rationale for the Hornets isn’t complicated here. They need Harris’ floor spacing more than they need Hayward’s playmaking because Ball is one of the best playmakers in the NBA. 

Of course, some Hornets fans may protest the inclusion of Plumlee here. After all, the Hornets were widely expected to pursue a big man this summer. Why would they trade one away? 

Well, Nick Richards has looked like a breakout candidate early in the season. Moreover, the Hornets drafted Mark Williams this summer. Between those two, they may have the position covered. 

With that in mind, the Hornets can spare Plumlee. Moreover, having Harris’ elite floor spacing at the 4 will open up the floor for both Ball and Terry Rozier.
