Of course, these two Eastern Conference teams are in vastly different positions. 

The star-studded Sixers are in championship-or-bust mode. They won’t make any moves that don’t improve this team right now. If they’re interested here, it’ll be because they think Hayward and Plumlee help them more than Harris. 

By contrast, the Hornets’ intentions his year are far less clear. If they opted to tank ahead of a potentially historic draft class, that would be understandable. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best course of action. 

If we had to guess, LaMelo Ball would prefer they improve the team now. In this era, keeping a franchise player happy is essential.

If the Hornets opted to try to improve this season, that would also be justifiable.
