Every NBA team needs a franchise player. Some teams don’t have one. On the other hand, some have more than one.
At the same time, some teams just aren’t clear on whether one of their players is a franchise player or not.
Look at the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James’ status as a franchise player is unimpeachable. Anthony Davis’ may not be. Recently, rumours have been circulating that this front office doesn’t see him in that light anymore.
It’s hard to blame them if they don’t. With that said, we don’t blame Davis either. Injuries have plagued the former MVP candidate for the last two seasons.
