Utah Jazz Take On Russell Westbrook’s Deal

Utah Jazz Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL) 

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Mike Conley, F/C Kelly Olynyk, F/C Rudy Gay 

On the other hand, the Jazz will have no championship aspirations next season. If anything, they have goals that fall on the opposite end of the spectrum. 

At least, they should. If the Jazz aren’t tanking, they could have fooled us. At the same time, this team may have too many quality veterans to really factor into the league’s race to the bottom.

If the Jazz want to take, moving off of the three players they’re sending out here could be a good first step. 

If the front office agrees, surely, the Lakers would take those veterans. Mike Conley is almost Westbrook’s opposite. He isn’t an elite athlete, but he is an elite floor spacer, and a good decision-maker as well. Meanwhile, Olynyk is exactly the type of front-court floor spacer that James-led teams tend to lean on.

Throw in Rudy Gay, and this deal would surely make the Lakers better in 2022-23. Best of all, they only have to part with one first-round pick in order to make it happen.
