It’s worth noting that Thybulle was reasonably efficient from long-range in his rookie season. Given all that he contributes on defense, that’s all any team would need from him to give him a prominent role. It doesn’t matter if he can’t handle, pass or cut. 

That’s just how good Thybulle’s defense is. He’s a rare player who can smother opponents at the point of attack and make defensive plays. Thybulle will gamble in the passing lanes, but only when it’s a smart gamble. 

By bringing him into the fold alongside Smith Jr. and Eason, the Rockets would assemble the best 25-and-under defensive wing rotation in the NBA.
