Dallas Mavericks
Golden State Warriors Receive: G/F Tim Hardaway Jr., F Dorian Finney-Smith
Dallas Mavericks Receive: F/C Draymond Green
With this deal, the Warriors get the closest thing to a Green replacement that we have them landing in this piece.
Granted, Finney-Smith is not as impactful as Green. Still, he is a similarly versatile defensive wing forward. Moreover, he’d actually improve the Warriors’ spacing, and who knows? In the Warriors’ developmental system, Finney-Smith could make strides toward Green’s level of defensive impact.
Of course, he’s not the only player the Warriors are landing here. Grabbing a strong floor spacer like Hardaway Jr. won’t hurt either. All told, the Warriors improve their depth here at the cost of a core player.
Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have two major incentives to land Green. Firstly, his defense could allow them to start the offensively gifted, defensively limited Christian Wood.

Secondly, they could use his secondary playmaking behind Luka Doncic. All told, he’s a sensible target for the Mavericks.
Even if sending him to a conference rival sounds unthinkable to the Warriors.
