Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal
Realistically, this won’t be the Warriors’ preferred course of action. They’ll only move Green if they can’t resolve this issue in-house.
In that event, this would be a good return for the Warriors. Firstly, they’re getting a player they’re already familiar with. Gary Payton II was valuable in this team’s 2021-22 title run, and they already know how to incorporate his unique skill set into their system.
On the other hand, Hart should be easy to work into any system. He’s a 3-and-D wing with a nose for rebounds. Hart is a proven enough commodity to find a significant role on this team from day one.
Of course, neither of these players is a perfect replacement for Green. Realistically, he’s irreplaceable. Green is probably the best defensive player of his generation.
