In recent years, nobody could say the same about the New York Knicks. Things used to be different in the Big Apple. Younger fans may not believe it, but there was a time when the Knicks had a distinct identity. 

Mostly, it revolved around defense and toughness. During the Patrick Ewing era, the Knicks were not going to be an easy team to beat. Unfortunately, they’ve lacked that same grit in recent years. 

In fact, it feels like the Knicks are always mediocre – or worse. At the same time, this team does have an impressive collection of draft capital.
