Why The Los Angeles Clippers Do The Deal
Vucevic may not be a good defensive big, but if any team is built to support him, it’s the Clippers.
Again, few teams have such a deep platoon of quality defensive wings. Between Robert Covington, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Nic Batum, the Clippers have the pieces to compensate for Vooch’s limitations.
Of course, we haven’t touched on the positives of Vucevic’s game. Offensively, he’s a force. Vucevic is a stretch big man who’s also capable of making plays for himself and others on the low block. It’s fair to say that he’s a far more skilled player than Zubac.
Meanwhile, the Clippers can still run their swarming small ball lines featuring Covington or Batum at the 5. There is some risk here – following this deal, the Clippers wouldn’t have a traditional rim protector on their roster.

Still, the offensive ceiling of this group with Vucevic, paired with their ability to offset his defensive deficiencies, should make it a worthwhile trade-off.
Can we say the same for the Bulls?
