Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal
For the Nets, this deal is born less out of necessity and more out of luxury.
Harris missed last season due to injury. Meanwhile, the Nets recognized that they’d need an elite floor-spacer in his absence, so they acquired Seth Curry. Now, they have both.
That’s fine! As we said, floor spacers can always co-exist. Moreover, Ben Simmons, as a non-shooting lead ball-handler, could use as many as he can get.
At the same time, both of the Nets’ best players are also elite floor spacers. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are both exceptional on and off the ball.

With that in mind, this group may benefit from Fournier’s presence more. He could be an ideal sixth man for the Nets in 2022-23. Floor spacing may be critical, but Fournier’s ability to create his own looks does hold its own value.
The fact that he’s a solid floor spacer in his own right only adds to his value.
