Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal
If any team in the NBA knows the value of spacing, it may be the Knicks.
After all, Julius Randle’s value seems to hinge directly on it. In 2020-21, he was one of the best shooting forwards in the NBA and was named to the All-NBA Third Team as a result. In 2021-22, his shooting fell off a cliff – and his production followed.
Who knows which version of Randle the Knicks will get in 2022-23? In any event, Randle is still a quality playmaker with or without his shot. To maximize him, the team should be targeting shooting specialists like Harris.
Moreover, RJ Barrett would benefit from Harris’s presence as well. Realistically, any playmaker would. More broadly, the Knicks need this type of player.
