The NBA Draft is a time for optimism. To hear fans tell it, it’s the time of the year that every NBA team is selecting players who will be key cornerstones for them for years to come. 

Until, of course, reality strikes. Players don’t live up to expectations, or, they don’t fit in with your roster. Next thing you know, they’re widely seen as trade candidates. Good luck with the next draft! 

The Atlanta Hawks have been interesting in the draft in recent years. Obviously, they’re happy to have landed Trae Young.

On the other hand, players like Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter, and Onyeka Onkongwu have found themselves either underdeveloped or buried in the rotation.

By contrast, players seem to thrive whenever the Toronto Raptors select them. Perhaps it’s something in the Canadian water. In any event, this organization seems to always get the most out of its players. 

With that said, some rumors have suggested that OG Anunoby wishes they’d ask more out of him. If he’s truly unhappy in Toronto, here’s a deal that finds him a new home in Atlanta on the Hawks.
