We could have cut the Spurs out of this deal, and sent a wing or two from the Clippers to the Cavaliers. After all, they sure have enough of them. 

On the other hand, that’s part of the appeal of these Clippers. They’re stacked with quality wings, and that’s their identity. Robert Covington would be a non-starter for Love, and even Nic Batum feels like he’s become too valuable to their game plan. 

On the other hand, that doesn’t mean the Clippers couldn’t use love. In fact, he’d add an intriguing new wrinkle to their attack. Love can space the floor from either big man spot, control the glass, and find open teammates with his strong floor vision. 

Yes, Love can be a defensive liability. It just so happens that the Clippers are tailor-made to cover for those limitations. After all – they have a deep platoon of quality defensive wings.
