At one time, Derrick Rose was living that same dream. Moreover, he was doing it in front of his hometown fans. 

In fact, Rose was named the youngest MVP in NBA history in 2011 as a member of the Chicago Bulls. Realistically, his wildest dreams had come true. Unfortunately, they’d soon come to resemble a nightmare. 

In all likelihood, you know the story. A series of significant injuries set Rose’s career back dramatically. It’s unfortunate. On the other hand, it’s helped him to author an inspiring story. 

After all, Rose isn’t playing for MVP awards anymore, but he’s still an extremely productive NBA player.
