Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal 

This isn’t a no-brainer for the Warriors. Some of their fans will likely be displeased when they read it. We compel you to keep an open mind. 

That’s not to say we can’t understand. Wiggins is a better defensive player than DeRozan and a more reliable floor-spacer. Put simply, he’s a more complementary player to the Warriors’ stars. 

On the other hand, again – who’s to say the Warrior’s stars won’t decline? Furthermore, DeRozan’s fit with the Warriors may not be as clean as Wiggins’, but it could be absolutely explosive. 

After all, DeRozan has developed into an outstanding playmaker in recent years. It’s safe to assume that, surrounded by the Warriors’ elite floor spacing, he’d be able to lean into that ability even further.

DeRozan could be the Warriors’ primary distributor, allowing Curry to focus on his off-ball duties. That preserves Curry for the playoffs, but it could also give the Warriors an (even more) unstoppable attack in the process. 

All told, this is a risky move for the Warriors, but the upside is tremendous. What does it do for the Bulls?
