New York Knicks Receive: G/F Buddy Hield 

Of course, we all know what the Knicks would have parted with to land Mitchell: draft capital. After all, that’s the currency that every major NBA trade is brokered within 2022. 

Just look at the return the Jazz ultimately did get for Mitchell. Granted, they received some quality young players for Mitchell, but the three unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps they received clearly headlined the package. 

With that said, it wasn’t the most pick-focused package the Jazz received this summer. They got four unprotected first-rounders for Gobert.

Again, many expected the Knicks to be the team sending them a cache of draft capital. They weren’t. Now, the Knicks can continue to hoard their picks, or, they could spend them piecemeal on quality players.
