Brooklyn Nets Receive: F/C Jaren Jackson Jr., G/F Dillon Brooks, G/F Ziaire Williams, 2023 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2024 First-Round Pick (GSW via MEM), 2026 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2028 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F Kevin Durant
It feels fair to say that something feels unresolved about the Durant situation. Perhaps that’s because nothing significant about the situation has changed.
It was widely reported that Durant approached owner Joe Tsai with an ultimatum: fire Sean Marks and Steve Nash, or trade me. Since then, neither Marks nor Nash has been fired, and yet, Durant hasn’t been traded, either.
Of course, it certainly felt like the Nets tried to trade Durant. In all likelihood, he commanded a price that no team was able to meet.
Durant didn’t remain in Brooklyn because he had a change of heart. He’s still there because it became unfeasible to move him to a situation where the team acquiring him would still be contending.

If Durant does issue another request, look for the Nets to try again. They may lower their asking price, but at the same time, they can’t afford to get fleeced – this is Kevin Durant we’re talking about.
Does this deal strike that balance between realistic and beneficial for the Nets?
