Yes, they did draft Duke big man Mark Williams. That was a good decision. This team is lacking a starting quality big, and whether Williams is ready to provide them with one or not, they might as well begin the process of grooming him in that direction.

Otherwise, the Hornets may be wise to take a step back. They don’t look like serious contenders in 2022-23, and they’re young – why not shed some veterans, and aim to maximize their lottery odds?
