Utah Jazz Receive: G/F Duncan Robinson, C Omer Yurtseven, 2023 First-Round Pick (Lottery Protected – MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: G Mike Conley
Prior to the 2021-22 playoffs, nobody would have thought the Miami Heat had a point guard problem. Life changes quickly in the National Basketball Association.
Kyle Lowry’s performance in the postseason was, to put it lightly, disappointing. At 36, it’s hard to say whether he’ll fare any better in next year’s run. The Miami Heat should at least consider strengthening the position ahead of the 2022-23 season.
With this deal, they’ll suddenly have two past-their-prime All-Stars sharing point guard responsibilities. While neither Lowry nor Conley impacts a game like they used to, their combined powers ought to be enough to man the position through the postseason.
As for the Jazz, they’re receiving another protected pick that’s overwhelmingly likely to convey here. Meanwhile, Yurtseven is an intriguing young player. In 2021-22, he demonstrated solid passing abilities for a big man, to go with the position’s traditional skills as well.
