Jaylen Brown
Before the Boston Celtics went on their run in the second half of the 2021-22 season, when they turned into one of the best teams in the NBA, there were some discussions about what they could do to get the team over the hump.
Breaking up their All-Star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown was a suggestion for down the road.
The run to the NBA Finals would seemingly put to rest the idea of trading away either player, but that wasn’t the case. The Celtics made Jaylen Brown available in trade talks with the Brooklyn Nets centered around Kevin Durant. Knowing the team made him available could impact his long-term outlook regarding remaining in Boston.
Jaylen Brown is under contract through 2024 and there is a chance that he will be on the move before then. Some feelings likely need to be smoothed over after Brown was publicly included in trade packages.

If he makes it clear that he will not be in Boston long-term, the Celtics could look to recoup as much value for him as possible. If he is looking for a chance of scenery, the Knicks need to pursue him aggressively.
Jaylen Brown reached his first All-Star game this past season and should have plenty more in his future. He has averaged more than 20 points per game for three consecutive seasons, improving as a playmaker as well. When coupled with the elite defense he provides, Brown is the kind of player that teams can build around.

Adding him to the mix as he is entering his prime would be a shrewd move for a Knicks front office that eventually has to come through and add an All-Star talent to the mix, making the most of the assets they have collected in recent years.
