1. Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards made some big moves this off-season. They were able to retain Bradley Beal, signing him to a supermax deal over the next five years.
The decision to give him a 15 percent trade kicker and a full no-trade clause, which no one else in the league has, is certainly not ideal, but keeping him in the nation’s capital was paramount.
In addition to that, they made another shrewd move acquiring Monte Morris and Will Barton from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Ish Smith. That is a good start in reshaping the playmaking department on the team, but they should not stop there.
Acquiring Mike Conley Jr. would help bring everything together offensively. Morris showed that he is capable of filling the starting role as he stepped up with Jamal Murray injured, but he is likely best suited to come off the bench. Adding Conley into the starting five would lengthen the team’s rotation.

Capped out for years to come, the Washington Wizards have to make incremental upgrades whenever possible to improve the outlook of the team.
Bringing on the veteran Conley would certainly help them achieve that. With the versatile Delon Wright also signed this offseason, Washington would have a good mix of guards to lead the offense along with Beal.

The price to land him shouldn’t be too steep given his contract, as his deal is partially guaranteed for the 2023-24 season. Based on what the Los Angeles Lakers paid to land Patrick Beverley, including one of their young pieces and an expiring contract to match salaries could get the job done.
