Sacramento Kings
Miami Heat Receive: F/C Domantas Sabonis, F Harrison Barnes
Sacramento Kings Receive: G Tyler Herro, G Kyle Lowry
The Sacramento Kings are determined to make the playoffs next season. In fact, they were fully committed to being in the postseason last year and proved it when they dealt away rising star Tyrese Haliburton for a slightly more proven but significantly less promising player in Domantas Sabonis.
It didn’t pay off for them then, and it very well might not pay off in 2022-23. The Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs may be dropping out of the playoff ranks from last year, but the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers will also be looking to sneak into the postseason and could very well beat out the Kings for the top-10 seeds.
If they get off to a slow start, the Kings would be wise to abandon ship and try to recuperate some of the young talent they lost in the Tyrese Haliburton trade. Herro is one of the few guards in the league that rivals Haliburton’s promise.
In exchange for the Kentucky product, the Miami Heat add a true go-to scorer who can pressure the rim and create a bucket for himself and others at will in Domantas Sabonis.

Harrison Barnes comes in to replace P.J. Tucker’s 3-and-D presence that they lost in free agency, but he’ll provide a little more juice as a scorer.
