This is not an entirely novel proposition. In fact, it’s one of a few deals that are commonly proposed for the Lakers in exchange for Westbrook (and picks). 

For some reason, it’s fallen to the wayside of late. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good deal for the Lakers. It simply means there may be better ones available for the same price. 

The most popular package for the Lakers is probably Myles Turner and Buddy Hield. To be sure, it’s a good one. For whatever reason, it hasn’t transpired yet. 

The same goes for Bojan Bogdanovic and Mike Conley. Of course, that one is probably on hold until/unless the Jazz trade Donovan Mitchell.

On the other hand, it may not even provide much more value than this proposal. 

It’s hard to say what the Lakers will do this summer, but it feels like they have to do something. Is this the right move for the storied organization?
