Sometimes, NBA players get pigeonholed. It’s one of many difficult realities about life in the NBA. 

It doesn’t necessarily have to be anyone’s fault. At times, a player simply falls into a role without finding the opportunity to explore their abilities. They may have more in their game, but their current team may not have room for them to find it. 

Whether that’s the case for OG Anunoby and the Toronto Raptors is hard to say. After all: the Raptors haven’t been able to give him room to explore further possibilities. 

That’s not to say Anunoby isn’t valuable to Canada’s team. He’s invaluable. Throughout his career to date, the 25-year-old has emerged as one of the most reliable 3-and-D wings in the NBA.
