Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal
This wouldn’t be an easy trade for the Lakers to make. Realistically, they probably won’t even make it.
That doesn’t mean it couldn’t benefit them.
From the Lakers’ perspective, this package is highlighted by Grant. He’s a versatile, two-way wing who’ll serve to complement Westbrook. For that matter, Hart fits the same description – he just lacks the same secondary playmaking and shot creation that Grant provides.
Making trades to complement Westbrook instead of Davis probably won’t be palatable for the Lakers. It’s certainly more likely that they’ll move the former MVP point guard instead.
