Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Terry Rozier
Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Clint Capela
As a further testament to the difficulties in building an NBA team, sometimes, you can make a trade that solves one problem by creating another.
Say, for example, your star point guard is an offensive genius who struggles on defense. Acquiring an elite defensive guard to cover for his limitations might be a reasonable course of action.
With that said, if that elite defensive guard is a poor floor-spacer, you may be negating the advantage your brilliant on-ball playmaker brings to your team in the first place.
Such is the case for the Atlanta Hawks this summer. They brought in Dejounte Murray to offset Trae Young’s defensive limitations. That’s great, but given Murray’s shooting woes, the Hawks now have a new dilemma.

Should they take the ball out of Young’s hands more often, relegating him to more off-ball duties? Or should they cross their fingers for an uptick in Murray’s three-point percentage?
Would this trade help alleviate that issue?
