2. Oklahoma City Thunder
Coming into the offseason, it looked as if the Oklahoma City Thunder may start trending off of some lists like this.
The Thunder had landed Chet Holmgren with the No. 2 overall pick before acquiring the draft rights to No. 11 overall pick Ousmane Dieng from the New York Knicks. With the 12th overall pick, the Thunder selected Jalen Williams out of Santa Clara.
Adding those players to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey, the rebuild looked to be moving forward for the Thunder. They also re-signed Lu Dort to a big contract in free agency, giving them a nice foundation.
However, the Lisfranc injury that Holmgren suffered, which will keep him sidelined for his entire rookie season, could change their plans. Oklahoma City will go to great lengths to tank and lose games and they could do the same this upcoming season.

The Thunder will sit regulars and are not shy about playing G Leaguers heavy minutes in their place. Winning games is not something Oklahoma City has been concerned about the last few seasons and that could be the case once again with Holmgren sidelined.
Prospects such as Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson are exactly why the Thunder have gone to the lengths they have stockpiling draft picks and losing games.

The Sam Hinkie Philadelphia 76ers are the only team that can rival the teardown that the Oklahoma City Thunder have gone through. However, landing one of those aforementioned blue chip prospects could make it all worthwhile in the end.
