Sacramento Kings Receive: F Kevin Durant
Brooklyn Nets Receive: F Keegan Murray, G Davion Mitchell, F Harrison Barnes, C Richaun Holmes, 2026 First-Round Pick, 2028 First-Round Pick
This hypothetical trade between the Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings was put together by Greg Swartz over at Bleacher Report. He made a few trades creating some new Big 3s around the NBA and this one would accomplish that for the Kings.
Kevin Durant would be inserted into the lineup between De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. This would be the third significant trade that the Kings have made in the span of a few months, as they also acquired Kevin Huerter from the Atlanta Hawks earlier this offseason.
That trade for Huerter would actually have to be amended slightly for this one to be possible. A projected future first-round pick was sent to the Hawks and if those protections are taken off, the Kings can trade their 2026 first-round pick.
The pick traded to Atlanta is protected through 2026, so any first-rounders between now and then are off limits until that conveys.

Heading to Brooklyn in this deal is a good mix of young, high-upside players and veterans. Keegan Murray was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and Davion Mitchell was selected No. 9 in 2021. Harrison Barnes and Richaun Holmes bring experience to the Nets and lengthen their rotation.
How does this deal impact each team? Let’s take a look at it from both of their perspectives, starting with the Kings.
