Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics fell just short of winning the Larry O’Brien trophy this year, as they lost to the Golden State Warriors in six games. They have a deep, talented roster that was improved this offseason with the additions of Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari. Despite that, they were considered the favorites to land Kevin Durant.
Now that Durant is remaining with the Nets, the Celtics could have some work to do when it comes to smoothing out the relationship with Jaylen Brown. It was confirmed through reports that Brown was discussed in trade proposals with the Nets, as Brooklyn asked for him and Jayson Tatum.
In a counter offer, the Boston Celtics offered Brown, Derrick White and draft compensation. Whenever trade rumors leak and a deal isn’t completed, it can cause some hurt feelings.
White wasn’t with the team very long, but he was an integral part of their run to the postseason. Brown is their second-best player and was arguably their top performer in the NBA Finals. While they refused to include Marcus Smart or Robert Williams III, they seemed content parting ways with Brown and White.

The Boston Celtics have to make sure there are no hard feelings for anyone on the roster. But, this could lead to Brown thinking more seriously about leaving as a free agent in 2024.
