How This Deal Impacts Utah Jazz
After receiving the package that they did from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Rudy Gobert, it should come as no surprise the Utah Jazz were testing the market with Donovan Mitchell. Seeking even more for him also makes sense as he is only 25 and already a three-time All-Star.
Players like that rarely come available even in this day and age with team-ups being prevalent. Alas, the asking price that Utah has on Mitchell is just too high.
The market isn’t strong enough as no one can get close to the all-in offer that the New York Knicks can present, but this hypothetical deal from the Toronto Raptors would be a solid one.
Acquiring OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr., who are 25 and 23 years old respectively, would provide Utah with players that can be the foundation of their next core. Anunoby possesses incredible potential as a two-way wing, fitting the mold of what teams want to build their rosters around.

Trent is already knocking on the door to being a 20-point per game scorer. Possessing a 6’9” wingspan, he also possesses the potential to be a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball.
The first-round picks are also a big draw for the Jazz. While they acquired four picks for Gobert, they didn’t receive the strongest player package. Anunoby and Trent are both better than anyone that was acquired from Minnesota, so that is why only three first-round picks are included.

The Jazz may be victims of their own success when it comes to trading Mitchell. What they received for Gobert has skewed the market, but this deal with the Raptors would still be a strong one for them to receive in exchange for Mitchell.
