Jakob Poeltl highlights the package here. His brand of rim-protecting defense will allow Anthony Davis to continue playing at the 4 as a free safety on defense. With that said, if he’s forced into a switch, he can survive that too – they could be an elite pairing. 

Meanwhile, McDermott is one of the best floor-spacers in the NBA. The Lakers were painfully short on that vital skill next season, and he’ll provide it in droves.
