Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal

Tom Thibodeau may be prickly, but he’s also enjoyed a lengthy NBA coaching career. He must have some ability to connect with his players, or that wouldn’t be the case.

In fact, Thibs has shown a certain affinity for defensive-minded players in the past. Given that fact, we doubt he’ll have any issues with Matisse Thybulle.

Plus, the Knicks would be acquiring him for a player they don’t appear high on anyway. Even if Thybulle’s offensive limitations keep him short of starter minutes, his defensive acumen should keep him in Thibodeau’s rotation.
