Donovan Mitchell Nets Haul Of Young Players
Utah Jazz Receive: G Russell Westbrook, G/F Evan Fournier, F Cam Reddish, F Obi Toppin, 2023 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2025 First-Round Pick (NYK), 2026 First-Round Pick (Swap – LAL), 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL), 2029 First-Round Pick (LAL)
Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Mike Conley, F Bojan Bogdanovic, G Jordan Clarkson
New York Knicks Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
In this arrangement, the Utah Jazz take back three additional players. Luckily, two of them are on a rebuilding timeline.
Realistically, they could opt for this deal depending on their view of both Reddish and Toppin. If they see either (or preferably, both) as potential cornerstones, this is a better deal for them. With that said, they are losing an unprotected pick: if the New York Knicks are only getting back one player, they’re giving up one less pick.
On the other hand, the Los Angeles Lakers are adding an additional rotation player, so they’re chipping in an extra pick swap. If they don’t like the fit with Randle, they’ll prefer this package. The fit between Conley and Bogdanovic with LeBron James is seamless – they’re both elite floor-spacers, and James doesn’t require much else from a teammate.
Clarkson’s spacing is less consistent, but the Lakers could use a ball-handler to carry the second unit. Clarkson, a former Sixth Man of the Year winner, is the perfect man for that role. He should thrive in reuniting with his old squad here.

Still, if the Lakers really wanted to swing for the fences, they could. With that said, it’ll cost them all the trade capital they can muster.
