Alas, when breaking down the trade package, this is close to everything that the Nets are looking for in a deal. One of their main goals is to remain competitive, which Julius Randle and Evan Fournier will help them accomplish.
Randle is one season removed from an All-NBA Second Team nomination and All-Star selection. Fournier just set the Knicks record for most 3-pointers in a single season. Playing alongside someone with the playmaking ability of Ben Simmons, both should continue thriving.

While Randle may not be considered a blue-chip All-Star level player, the draft compensation is more than the Nets would receive from anyone else. The Boston Celtics can only offer one and swaps right now but have Jaylen Brown. The Toronto Raptors can offer four and swaps and the Miami Heat can offer three.
