Toronto Raptors Receive: F Jaylen Brown, G Derrick White
Boston Celtics Receive: F OG Anunoby, G Gary Trent Jr., C Khem Birch, 2023 First-Round Pick, 2025 First-Round Pick
The Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics have been involved in trade rumors as both are in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes. But, if a deal cannot be completed for the former MVP, maybe they can come together on a deal instead.
Taking bits and pieces of the trade proposals that have been exchanged, we landed on this deal between the Atlantic Division foes. The Raptors would not include Scottie Barnes in trade negotiations for Durant and hold him off the table in this scenario as well. The Celtics don’t want to include Marcus Smart, so he is off the board.
The package that the Celtics were willing to offer was Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, which is what is heading to the Raptors in this hypothetical deal. Both were key contributors during their recent postseason run, but Boston continues reshaping their roster and adding assets.
Headlining the package to Beantown is OG Anunoby, who was reportedly unhappy with his role in Toronto and was mentioned in some trade rumors earlier this offseason. He has sky-high potential as a two-way player, which Boston would hope to tap into.

Joining him is Gary Trent Jr., who has cemented himself as a strong multi-level scorer. Only 23 years old, he has untapped potential as a two-way player as well given his length at the shooting guard position. Khem Birch is included to help match salary but provides insurance in the frontcourt with Daniel Theis now with the Indiana Pacers.
How does this deal impact each team? Let’s take a look at it from both of their perspectives starting with the Raptors.
