Memphis Grizzlies
Brooklyn Nets Receive: F/C Jaren Jackson Jr., G/F Dillon Brooks, 2023 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2025 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2027 First-Round Pick (MEM), 2029 First-Round Pick (MEM)
Memphis Grizzlies Receive: F Kevin Durant
If the Brooklyn Nets prefer a higher risk, higher reward package, this Memphis Grizzlies deal might be the move for them.
After all, Jaren Jackson Jr. is an injury risk. At this point, there’s no sense in denying that. He’s expected to miss most of 2022-23 after suffering an off-season injury. That impacts the Memphis Grizzlies’ offer.
At the same time, he’s got more upside than anyone named in the Atlanta Hawks package. Jackson Jr. has emerged as an elite defensive big. He’s a high-end rim protector who’s also capable of guarding the perimeter when necessary.
Furthermore, he’s a very natural fit alongside Ben Simmons. His ability to space the floor will be a blessing for the non-shooting Simmons if he starts knocking down the three consistently. Given Simmons’ current trade value, the Nets would be better off keeping him and adding pieces that fit alongside him.

Finally, the Nets get more draft capital in this deal as well. If they believe they can manage Jackson Jr.’s body better than the Memphis Grizzlies have, this would have to be a tempting offer for the organization.
