New York Knicks Receive G Donovan Mitchell
We talked about rumors that linger already. This Donovan Mitchell one has been circulating for too long. We need the Utah Jazz and New York Knicks to make it official.
At this point, it feels likely that the two sides are haggling over the draft capital. It’s been reported that the Jazz are looking for seven unprotected first-round picks.
On a related note: the Jazz probably won’t get seven unprotected first-round picks. Donovan Mitchell is a star, but that’s the type of package that’s strictly reserved for top-5 players. On the other hand, what we’re proposing here feels realistic.
With that said, five unprotected first-rounders is no modest return. Furthermore, the Jazz would be bringing in two intriguing young players in Reddish and Toppin. The former has fallen well short of his potential in the NBA, but at 21, he’s still worth a flier for a rebuilding team.
