The Miami Heat are getting by far the best player in this trade.

Say what you will about Irving. Surely, we’ve already said enough. He remains one of the most purely talented basketball players we’ve ever seen. Call him the best ball-handler in league history, and you’re not likely to face much resistance.

The Heat would be capitalizing on a buy-low opportunity here. Furthermore, if Lowry’s 2021-22 postseason play is his new baseline, the risk here is minimal.
