Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks made a major move to try to recapture the postseason success they captured in a bottle in 2021. They addressed their two most glaring needs in defense and playmaking with one move by trading for Dejounte Murray.
Murray’s defensive prowess and shot creation will ensure that Trae Young isn’t hunted by opponents and that he’ll be able to play offense off of the ball as well.
Unfortunately for the Hawks, they weren’t able to squeeze Josh Richardson into that deal. J-Rich would only double down on the traits that Murray brought to Atlanta and would provide additional support in those categories off of the bench for the Hawks.
With Trae Young leading the charge, they’ll need as much defense around their undersized, supercharged point guard as possible. Ice Trae also had way too much of the offensive load on his shoulders last season.

Josh Richardson would be a perfect low-cost option to ensure that the Hawks further address both of those issues after dealing for Murray.
